Comprised of Sweet Pea, Cabbage Rose and Candy Apple velvets, our velvet hearts kit also contains ribbon, floss, sequins, beads and interfacing to make three hearts, along with complete instructions and patterns. There are three different heart shapes and three different designs to embroider. One design is a heart outline, one is a gridded pattern and one is festooned heart top. Only three stitches are needed for each embellishment design: the French Knot Rose, MJ's Cascaded Ribbon and the Anchored Sequin. The ribbon, floss, sequins and beads provided for each design are the same in terms of amounts. This means you can embroider any of the three designs on any of the heart shapes. Each heart back is embellished with a tiny beaded heart and cascaded ribbon, so that if your heart twirls, the back will provide a pleasant little surprise.
Finished size of each heart is about 3" long and 2 3/4" wide, plus ornament loop.
You'll need needles, sewing basics, and stuffing. We suggest using wool roving in combination with a small amount of play sand for excellent results. Other stuffing options include dried lavender, pulverized walnut shells, poly pellets or polyester stuffing.
