One of the beautiful projects featured in the new Acufactum book, A Handmade Winter.
These bow cushions are such a simple idea, but the finished shape is so pretty and a little unexpected.
The cushion begins as a rectangular pillow and is gathered through the centre with a fitted fabric band, creating that wonderful oversized bow shape. A beautiful Acufactum woven patch is placed in the centre of the band as the finishing detail. The book shows several versions using Forest Treasures, Forest Friends and soft woven checks, paired with coordinating dots and different woven patches.
They have such a lovely cozy, European country feel and would be beautiful tucked onto a chair, bed or bench. The gathered shape also makes them especially comfortable to use as a little neck pillow. Best of all, this is a fairly straightforward sewing project that gives you a very special finished result.
Finished size: approximately 16" × 12"
The book also includes instructions for a larger 20" × 12" version.

*KIT INCLUDES all the fabrics, zipper, interfacing and patch to complete the project. Stuffing or a pillow insert is not included. There is enough fabric for the larger size, though of course you can choose to make the smaller size if desired.
