The Nutcracker Sampler is the seventh annual Block of the Month programme that Nicola and I have collaborated on and will run for nine months, from October 2025 until June 2026. As a participant you will receive monthly PDF patterns posted to our course forum where you can download and print if you would like a paper copy. You will immediately receive access to the October pattern on the forum, and the remaining patterns will be released and posted to the forum monthly approximately on the second Tuesday of each month. You will receive a pattern each month for 9 months so you can create your very own Nutcracker Sampler.
We'll be using Nicola's favourite tried and trusted techniques, which include simple machine piecing, creating Dresden fans and adding ribbon and embroidery embellishments. This year's quilt will finish at 56" x 63". You can use any fabrics you would like. The sample is sewn in Tilda's Merry Little Christmas, but we encourage you to select any fabrics that speak to you. Perhaps you have the perfect fabrics waiting in your stash!
Not only will you receive the pdf pattern each month, but this special programme also includes: special password-accessed blog posts, where Nicola will be sharing her inspiration and guiding you through the techniques we cover; exclusive filmed tutorials for each block; and a creative community hub where we can share our trials, tribulations and triumphs.
The full version of this program, including the fabrics, has sold out, but this gives you an opportunity to join us using your own sourced fabrics.
The cost is $12.57 CAD/month or pay one payment of $80 CAD (a savings from the monthly payments, but you will still receive the files monthly, not all at once. These payments will begin the day you sign up, and continue monthly for 6 more payments (7 in total). The program begun in October, but we had a lightbulb moment after receiving many emails from folks disappointed that they missed out on the sold out program. Nicola and I decided to open the programme as a pattern only option so we could welcome more friends in our journey through the Nutcracker. It isn't too late to start now.
