*We are thrilled to announce a very special retreat with Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilts. This will be our only retreat this year, and we are honoured that it will be with Joanna, whom I have been a huge fan of for many, many years!
Joanna is a designer for Moda Fabrics and founder of Fig Tree Quilts, located in California. She joins us for a 2 day retreat where she will teach us a special project from her new line, Buon Natale plus Christmas crafts and Figgy sharing! It is Christmas in July!

Join us in Okotoks, Canada for our two day retreat on July 17 & 18, 2025. Our retreat space is on our acreage property, 2 minutes outside of the town. It is a 2200sq.ft., farm style building, that is lovingly decorated and filled with beautiful products. The following is a tentative schedule:
July 17 & 18: 10 am-4 pm: Full instruction from Joanna Figueroa using her upcoming Buon Natale line. Each attendee will receive a full fat quarter bundle that you can use for your project! Snacks, beverages and a lunch will be provided. If you have special dietary restrictions we do have a fridge on site that you can bring your own lunch and snacks. There will be an opportunity for studio shopping with special discounts, special Fig Tree bundles, plus many other goodies!
*Your retreat cost includes meals as described above, a fat quarter bundle of Buon Natale and instruction from Joanna. Neither the travel costs nor accommodations are included.
*Okotoks is located in the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and is a beautiful small historic town, 20 minutes from the city of Calgary. The international airport is a 40-50 minute drive away. We will be providing a written guide for you, including listing my favourite restaurants, shops and destinations. I highly recommend extending your stay and visiting Banff, a bucket list destination for people around the world (I have included several photos of Banff for you to see, though photos don’t do it justice). Banff is a 2 hour drive from my home, into the Rocky Mountains. It is not to be missed!
*There are several local hotels, minutes from the retreat site. There is every amenity in our town, including many chain shops and restaurants, but also (and I believe more importantly) wonderful small, locally owned businesses.
*I would recommend renting a vehicle at the airport so you can not only get to Okotoks, but also drive daily to the retreat location. Transportation is not provided.
*A full supply list and list of hotels and other details will be provided to you after you have registered (please check your spam folder if you don't see this).
*You must bring a sewing machine to this retreat. We are unable to provide one for you.
