Lucky the Elephant In Person CLASS

*Join us on April 27, 2024 for a wonderful class, taught by Brenda Wolf. We will learn to make the So Treasured Lucky the Elephant teddy dollie.

A little more about Brenda, who is SO talented! :

"I prefer to call myself a ‘Craft Enthusiast’ (some might say almost maniacal) living in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. My husband questions why I need 3 individual spaces in our home for my hobbies! If I’m not in my sewing room quilting or stitching up little teddies on my sewing machine, you might find me hand stitching a teeny bear or piecing a So Treasured Goodness bowl while watching a British crime series on TV. I’m also a ceramic potter; hand-building almost exclusively these days to sculpt life sized fruits and vegetables. In my down time, you’ll find me in my kitchen making Sour Dough
breads and bagels (like so many; a talent I perfected during Covid!) or giant pots of soup! I was first introduced to Jean and her So Treasured Dolls a couple of years ago and made my first Matilda from Fireside before delving into the world of viscose, mohair, joints and glass eyes. I’ve since made them all…Lucky, Flopsy, Teddy, Kittie, Rosie and Charlie. My grand-daughters have a shelves full of these furry babies and happy spend hours playing with them. I’m thrilled to be able to share my teddy making skills as an instructor and I dare you to stop at just making one!"

*Lucky is a 6" viscose, jointed elephant/teddy dollie. You will learn the basics of bear making, including adding joints, proper stuffing and construction techniques, and making clothing.

*The class runs from 10 am-4 pm and includes the pattern, fabric (beautiful German Viscose, in a soft grey as seen in the third image) and supplies such as joints, hand blown glass eyes, and glass beads for weighting your elephant. We will also allow you the choice of one fat quarter of fabric to make some clothing for your Lucky. Shoes are not included, but there is a selection available for purchase if you would like shoes for your dollie.

*You must bring your own sewing machine and basic sewing supplies such as thread, scissors etc.

*The studio will be open at 9:30 am for those who'd like to arrive early and get set up, and instruction begins at 10 am.

*Coffee and tea are provided, but please bring your own bagged lunch, or plan to zip out to pick up lunch (we have many grocery stores and restaurants near by).

*once you have reserved your spot, you will be sent an email with all the pertinent details for the class, including supplies to bring and directions to the studio.

*Cancellation policy: I am so sorry, but once reservation is official, we are not able to offer any cancellations/refunds. We order supplies based on attendance, and this makes it not possible to offer refunds. If you are not able to attend, you could try to find someone to purchase your spot on your own and email me to let me know of the switch.
