I used a linen/cotton fabric for the background. The birds are done in lots of colour so they stand out from the leaves and vines. There is no piecing in this quilt – its completely appliqued, including the “wedge” blocks in the border. The use of the yellow/black fabric adds the “zing” that is needed for the quilt!
