When designing this tote, we tried to envision what a Regency era woman, going to the local markets and filling her tote with all sorts of market goods, would have in hand. This tote is simple to make, yet the look is elevated by the wonderful bow (which is optional for those who prefer a simpler look). We chose to quilt it in straight lines to mimic the look of a wicker basket, a material often used for market totes. The use of a good foam stabilizer allows this tote to keep its shape, yet it is a very user friendly material to sew with. We hope you enjoy making this simple yet beautiful tote!
The pattern is in the book, My Dear Jane, which is sold separately.
The kit includes the fabric required for the tote, including the ribbon, the By Annie's Soft and Stable and the piping for the handle. You will require a piece of stiff cardboard (optional) to stabilize the bottom if desired.
