This is such a pretty Christmas cushion, combining cross stitch and sewing in one very special project. The front is stitched on beautiful white evenweave linen with the whimsical Angel with Bow design from A Handmade Winter, creating a lovely handmade focal point for the cushion. You can also choose the fabric only version, which has no cross stitch in the project.
But it is those wonderful oversized fabric bow ties at the top that really make this project special. Two long fabric ties are sewn into the upper edge of the cushion and then tied together into a soft, generous bow. The book pairs the embroidered linen with Acufactum's Christmas Hearts fabric and a small red woven check for the bow, giving it that charming European Christmas look that Acufactum does so beautifully.
The finished cushion has a zipper along the bottom, so the cover can easily be removed from the cushion insert. It would be gorgeous on a favourite chair, sofa or bench throughout the Christmas season — festive, but still soft and understated enough to work beautifully with other handmade holiday pieces. The book describes these bow-tied cushions as lovely decorative accents for a sofa, bench or favourite chair.
