Simple Gifts is a beautiful sewing-inspired cross stitch design by Jeannette Douglas, created especially to wrap around a wooden spool for a wonderfully unique finish.
Filled with charming little sewing motifs, Simple Gifts is stitched as one long, narrow band and then wrapped around a wooden spool. We love the way the finished piece becomes both a beautiful display piece and a useful addition to your stitching space.
The specially designed wooden spool (handmade by artisans, not mass produced) has holes in the top, perfect for holding a favourite pair of embroidery scissors. You can even line the back of your stitched piece with wool before attaching it to the spool, creating a handy place to tuck your needles.

Pattern + Wooden Spool Light Finish – includes the Simple Gifts paper pattern plus the coordinating wooden spool used to create the finish shown.
Pattern + Wooden Spool Dark Finish – includes the Simple Gifts paper pattern plus the coordinating wooden spool in a dark finish.
Spool Only - perhaps you already have the pattern and are looking only for the spool. We have this option for both the light and dark finishes.

Wooden Spool: approximately 4" high × 2¾" wide, with three holes (Light version) or 5 holes (Dark version) in the top for holding scissors.
