Northern Lights is our fifth Block of the Month programme and will run for nine months, from January until September 2024. Block of the Month participants will receive an exclusive early access pattern book and beautifully packaged kits containing everything they need to create nine original Northern Lights sampler blocks and our dazzling Maelstrom setting, with Nicola's tried and trusted techniques, including simple machine-piecing, creating angles with placement templates and adding some subtle sparkle with trims and embroidery. We include any little extras you will need and, as always, a few lovely surprises, just because.
Binding is included in this BOM/Kit but backing is not. We will have a selection of coordinating backings available at a discounted price for our BOM members. Watch for these coming soon.
As is the case every year, we have limited places available for this Block of the Month program. The reservation fee of $30.00 USD (For my Canadians, please be sure to choose CAD on the currency selector on the website (top right of the page if using a desk top computer) as I'm unable to change the currency after you have paid) is non-refundable and commits you to participating in the nine month program. The remaining nine payments will be made by subscription through the website and will cost $25 USD plus postage (postage will be $7.50 USD). This subscription is set up today with your reservation purchase, so you will not need to subscribe separately. Your Next payment will come out on January 1, and the 1st of each month for the remaining 9 payments. The blocks will ship on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning January 9.
NEW FOR THIS BOM is a KIT option! You pay $255 USD for the kit, plus $24 USD for shipping and will receive all the material, pattern, templates and extra goodies up front. You'll still enjoy the monthly blog posts and video tutorials, but receive the materials and full kit up front. The pro to this is you save on shipping overall, the con is more upfront cost. This year we wanted to give you the choice to choose what works best for you :) You will receive your kit mid-late January, 2024.
The programme will also include a special password accessed blog, where we will explore the tall tales that inspired the blocks and explore the techniques we use, plus - new for this year FILMED tutorials.
The quilt will finish at approximately 70" square and feature the perfectly Nordic inspired fabric, Cadence by Crystal Manning.
