*When I first saw Anna Maria Horner's gorgeous Folk Flower quilt, I knew I had to make it. I kept it on my 'to make' list, awaiting the perfect fabric collection to compliment the pattern. Well, when my Bloomsville sample fabric arrived, it was a light bulb moment! I LOVE the results! I paired Bloomsville with Makower Linen texture in a blue/grey ombre effect. This kit includes a full fat quarter bundle of Bloomsville and Abloom blenders, plus all the colours of the Makower Linen texture as shown here, to complete the Option A (large) Folk Flower Quilt including binding. Backing is not included. The digital downloadable pattern is also included, and the download will automatically be emailed to you as soon as you purchase (please check your spam folder if you don't see it). Your pattern will come right away, but the fabric will be shipped on June 1 as below.
The Folk Flower Quilt with its spunky leaves and simple, circular flower heads in each and every block offer so many opportunities to play up favorite feature style fabrics and to fussy cut beautiful floral prints. The quilt is instructed as reverse appliqué, and the technique is ideal for keeping curved pieces smooth and bulk free. But anyone with some experience in other applique methods could easily adapt the pattern to suit! Pattern includes variations for four sizes (but our kit is for the largest version).
