Spring Cottage is our sixth Block of the Month programme and will run for eight months, from January until August, 2025. Block of the Month participants will receive an exclusive early access pattern book and lovingly packaged kits containing everything they need to create the nine original Spring Cottage sampler blocks and an exquisite pieced border, with Nicola's favourite techniques, which include conventional machine-piecing, creating angles with placement templates and simple embroidery. We include any little extras you will need and, as always, we're looking forward to treating you to a few lovely surprises.
We're always looking for new ways to enhance your block-of-the-month experience, so as well as continuing with our new full-kit option, this year we are moving our community forum and filmed tutorials away from social media and on to our own dedicated website.
The Spring Cottage quilt will finish at approximately 70" square and this year we'll be sewing with a selection of Tilda Fabric's delightful new seasonal basics collection, Creating Memories, in fresh, springy shades of soft pink, silvan green, sunny yellow, forget-me-not and duck-egg blue, combining classic florals, ginghams and polka dots. It's all going to be so delightful: you may want to consider putting a lace doily under your sewing machine
Please note that there are limited places available for the Block of the Month. The reservation fee is $30 USD (For my Canadians, please be sure to choose CAD on the currency selector on the website (top right of the page if using a desk top computer) as I'm unable to change the currency after you have paid)which is non-refundable and commits you to participating in the eight month program.
The remaining eight payments will be made by subscription through the website and will cost $30 USD plus postage (postage will be $6.50 USD and $6.50 CAD). This subscription is set up today with your reservation purchase, so you will not need to subscribe separately. Your next payment will come out on January 1, and the 1st of each month for the remaining 8 payments. The blocks will ship on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning January 14.
We also have a KIT option! You pay $270 USD for the kit (which includes your reservation fee) plus $20 USD for shipping and will receive all the material, pattern, templates and extra goodies up front. You'll still enjoy the monthly blog posts and video tutorials, but receive the materials and full kit up front at the start of the program in January. The pro to this is you save on shipping overall, the con is more upfront cost. We want to give you the choice to choose what works best for you-monthly payments or a full kit and one payment :) You will receive your kit in January, 2025, but the kit payment will be made today when you order.
