Introducing

Maison Sajou

Quality Haberdashery Made In France

Sajou of France

I am thrilled to introduce you to an exquisite line we have recently brought to the studio. Sajou is a company from France which produces the most beautiful sewing notions, accessories, stitchery kits and fabrics. The original history of Maison Sajou, begins in the 19th century with Jacques-Simon Sajou, but sadly, eventually disappears in 1954.The brand has since been revived in 2005 by Frederique Crestin-Billet. You can read more about the fascinating history of this company on the Sajou blog. Here's a little history of the most recent incarnation of the Sajou brand (source: Sajou.fr):

"Maison Sajou is famous for the quality of their haberdashery, embroidery and textile product.
Since the relaunch in 2005, Sajou has always put the emphasis on
products Made in France. Sajou is not a reseller of haberdashery goods:
all the products are created by Frédérique Crestin-Billet."

Meet Frederique Crestin-Billet

Frederique started collecting vintage haberdashery at a very young age, especially colour charts, thread boxes and the famous little Sajou albums. Frederique relaunched the historical brand and the Sajou webstore opened the 25th May 2005 at a time when online haberdashery sales were in the pioneer stage. The success was immediate, notably abroad in Japan, USA and all across Europe.

From the start, Frederique put the emphasis on French-made goods, long before local sourcing was as popular as it is today."
