Chatting With Magda

Where are you from?

I am British and currently living in a little village in West Sussex on a farm at the foot of the South Downs National park, so you could call me a country girl! {This is Andrea adding in that this sounds like a fairytale dream! little village? South Downs National park? That's what this Anglophile's dreams are made of!)

When did you learn how to stitch and embroider?

I started stitching at around 7 years old. My mother bought me a wool canvas work of a little lamb. I loved making dolls clothes too. I started designing kits in 2021 so very recently with a view to capturing wild flowers in embroidery. Although my mother taught me embroidery at a young age I wanted to train in embroidery professionally so in 2012 I embarked on the Certificate course in technical hand embroidery with the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace.

What are your plans for your business in the future?

I am passionate to continue designing embroidery kits depicting flora and fauna of the British Isles. I have some exciting new ideas in the form of embroidery kits, but I don’t want to give anything away just yet! I really would like to expand my kits overseas & just to keep embroidering!

We have 3 of Magda's kits from her Wildflower series: Common Spotted Orchid, Cowslip and Primrose. All are in studio and ready to ship now. Click on any of them above to view. We also have brought in two of her beautiful needleminders, a perfect accompaniment to her kits. We do plan to carry more of her designs in the future. Stay tuned for more!

Thank you Magda, for agreeing to send your gorgeous kits, and for sharing your incredible talent with us all!
